Nice to meet you. I’m Jenn, the founder of Foodess! I started in 2009, and to this day I continue to carefully create every single recipe. I’m happy you’re here!

As a seasoned nutritionist, Jennifer Pallian, BSc, RD, holds a science degree in Food, Nutrition and Health, and qualifications as Registered Dietitian, plus continued education in professional writing.
She is backed by 15 years of experience specializing in nutrition, food science, recipe testing and food writing.
Her work as a Food Scientist has taken her from the flour industry and retail consulting to magazines.
Media
Jennifer has been featured in many popular outlets, such as Google, Food and Wine, Men’s Health, Health, Parade, Chowhound, Eating Well, Woman’s World, Flavour Netowork (formerly Food Network Canada), Real Simple, Everyday Health, Simply Recipes, CBS News, Good Housekeeping, Prevention Magazine, USA Today, FOX News, Southern Living and more.

About My Recipes
Jennifer brings together her dual passions for food science and cooking in every recipe she develops.
Whether it’s a Tuesday-night Hamburger Casserole or a Moist Chocolate Cake for a special birthday, every recipe she shares is tested over and over.
She loves to nail down the common mistakes to avoid and share her science-backed tips to ensure you succeed on the first try.
Tell Me More
Jenn has three boys, Theo, Everett and Miles, whose busy activity schedules have moved her cooking style toward the direction of doable on busy weeknights.

Her Indian husband, Adarsh, is the official taste tester for all of her Indian recipes.
He gives infuriating, mostly-unsolicited feedback (🤣) until final sign-off on dishes like the Butter Naan she spent 19 years testing, Amma’s authentic Masoor Dal (Indian red lentil curry) or the reader-favourite Butter Chicken.
Jenn’s family’s favourite Foodess recipes include extra-creamy Old Fashioned Baked Macaroni and Cheese, and the famous Meatloaf recipe with meatloaf glaze.
When she’s not developing recipes, you’ll usually find her exploring the Pacific Northwest or bingeing cozy mystery novels with a Chai in hand.
