The Bite-Sized Brie Appetizer Everyone Loves (So Easy!)

These Brie Appetizer Bites combine the creamy richness of brie with the tang of cranberry sauce, all encased in a flaky puff pastry. Topped with chopped walnuts and fresh herbs, they are the perfect elegant addition to any gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed (½ of a standard box)
  • 8 oz brie cheese
  • 3 tbsp cranberry sauce
  • ¼ cup chopped walnuts
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary leaves for garnish
  • Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper for seasoning

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a mini muffin tin.
  • Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface into a thin rectangle or square, about 10x12 inches.
  • Cut the pastry into 16 squares, each measuring 2 ½ inches, to fit into the muffin tin cups.
  • Cut the brie into small pieces to snugly fit into each muffin cup.
  • Press a puff pastry square into each muffin cup, add a piece of brie, and top with a small spoonful of cranberry sauce and a sprinkle of walnuts.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden and the brie has melted.
  • Remove from the oven and let them cool for a couple of minutes. The easiest way to remove the brie appetizer bites from the muffin tin is to run a knife around the outside of each muffin cup and then use a small spoon to scoop it out.
  • Garnish with fresh thyme or rosemary leaves, and a sprinkle of sea salt and black pepper. Serve warm.

Notes

The rind on the brie cheese is edible and bakes well, but you can remove it if preferred.
These bites can be assembled ahead and refrigerated until ready to bake, perfect for entertaining.
For a perfect fit in a mini muffin tin, ensure the puff pastry squares are about 2 to 2.5 inches on each side.
Experiment with different jams or nuts for a variety of flavors.
