    New Foodess Features

    by

Little peanut is two months old today!

And this morning, I came very close to swallowing an earplug.  How, you ask? Well, it was about the same size and shape as the Advil that I was simultaneously poised to cram in my ear.

It probably has something to do with the fact that my very hungry caterpillar woke up for four (FOUR!!!!) feedings last night between eleven pm and six thirty this morning.

I think peanuts must have growth spurts at two months…

No recipe today, but I wanted to share with you some of the new blog features I’m super excited about. The first being that super awesome box in the upper right hand corner… the one that has a “subscribe” button beside it? You should do what it says… then you get to see me in your inbox, yay! Never miss a post!

Secondly, now you can just hover over my photos to share them on Pinterest (a button will appear on the upper left-hand corner). Pin away!

The next is that “Recipe Box” tab you see up there in the main navigation – click on it. It seriously rocks. I signed up with ZipList and I’m in love. You create an account in two seconds, and then it practically does your meal planning for you.

I initially did it only so that you could save your fave Foodess treats to a personal recipe box by hitting that “save” button you see next to my recipes… but then I found out it does so much more!

You can search for recipes from Epicurious, Martha Stewart, the Food Network and a bazillion blogs once you’re in there (click “Search All Recipes”), and/or drag the “Recipe Clipper” to your bookmarks bar and grab recipes from anywhere on the internet, save them to a recipe box, and add to a weekly meal plan… which you can export to your google calendar… and it makes a shopping list for you! It’s the best, easiest, smartest, most convenient meal planning tool I’ve found, and I’ve tried everything. I’m so happy to share it with you!

Take five minutes to explore, I think you’ll be hooked, too. So many features to organize yourself (you can “tag” recipes, put them in lists, etc.) Once you sign up, you just come back to Foodess.com to access your Recipe Box, Meal Planner, Shopping List, etc. How fun!

And in other news, I’m introducing Tuesday Tips and Foto Fridays. The former will be quick posts with cooking and baking tidbits (for example, tomorrow’s post on how to avoid flat cookies!) and the latter will be a series of posts on food styling and photography. They won’t be every week, but something that you will see popping up regularly. What do you think? Good? No good?

That’s all for today! Hope you all are enjoying some lovely summer fun.
