A sweet giveaway

Redpath Sugar has recently been made available across Canada, and to celebrate and spread the word, they are offering one Foodess reader an generous bundle of baking gifts! They would love to have you join their online community, sharing your recipes and tips, and photos of your gorgeous baking creations on their facebook page. Check out the Redpath blog adorably named “Acts of Sweetness“.

The lovely giveaway includes:

  • two cookbooks

  • a set of cute shaped baking pans

  • an apron

  • a tea towel

  • and a sugar spoon!

The first book is the beautiful Sucre cookbook from the reknowned Parisian bakery Laduree, where the beloved macaron was invented.

No kidding. Macaron recipes from the creator of the macaron!

The book contains an entire chapter on macarons, as well as chapters on small cakes; tarts & tartlets; custards, creams & puddings; pastries; and more. I assure you I am having an extraordinarily difficult time giving this one away! The cookbook itself is a work of art with it’s charming pale green suede-like cover embossed in gold. I just want to stroke its cover while sipping French champagne.

And if that isn’t enough to keep you busy in the kitchen, the second cookbook, Cake Boss – Stories and Recipes from Mia Famiglia which features Carlo’s bakery’s most sought after recipes, with a mix of timeless classics and modern creations.

Thinking dessert? How about: chocolate raspberry upside down cakesmarbled lemon cheesecakeraspberry cream piemy mom’s rhubarb cakeupside down banana toffee cake I am blessed with an amazing mom. She is smart, free-spirited, wise, generous, an great listener, and always knows the answer to every one of my problems. She taught me kindness and independence and to believe in my dreams. She is also a crazy talented artist. She finds beauty everywhere, like in flowers that are past their prime, a backyard fish pond, and baby toads. She knows how much you, my friends and readers, mean to me. So while she was in Vancouver recently for a way-too-short visit, she decided to paint you a gift! The giveaway: An original acrylic painting by artist Helen Shideler. (Who was recently accepted into an elite society of artists ranked among the best in Canada and highly regarded throughout the world… I’m allowed to brag about her, right? SO PROUD OF YOU, MOM!) It is a 10″ x 10″ original acrylic painting on canvas from a photo of the most popular recipe on my blog, the Moist Chocolate Cake. It has painted edges (so no frame necessary).
